Cloverfie…..
Went off to see Cloverfield tonight, and while the film is good, I can’t give a proper opinion since I went with my brother and he got struck by “Cloverfield flu” about an hour in. While it didn’t strike me so hard, some sequences were pushing the limit on my queasy-scale, and not knowing how long was left I wasn’t about to let my brother sit on the odeon sofas indefinitely.
For people who don’t know what I’m referring to, the film was made to give the impression it was filmed by an amateur with a camcorder, complete with hand held shake. When in a cinema, that can be one hell of a big shake. Frankly I think they pushed it a little too far. Who knows, this could be the first film to get a “Special Not-as-shaky” dvd edition. Although I doubt the effect is quite so severe on a small screen.

I am not a fan of shakycam films, they drive me mad. So I’ve been slack in going to watch Cloverfield. It doesn’t help that PR says its the best movie ever, and Kami has put the exact opposite onto a mini review on his blog.
Guess I’ll check it out soon!
